A Rare martially marked colt 1851 model early Navy-Navy percussion revolver
Nos. 59008 And 59865 for 1856

With octagonal sighted barrel with New.York address, cylinder originally with roll engraved naval engagement scene, frame stamped 'Colt's Patent' over 'U.S.' on the left side, rammer, iron trigger-guard and back-strap of London type, the latter cut with four notches running into the right hand grip and stamped 'USN' along the bottom, figured rounded grips (both with minor chip), the left one with indistinct inspector's mark, and traces of silvering (some wear and scattered minor pitting overall)
