An 13-Bore 1816 Model (Type I) Flintlock Musket
Dated 1821

Reconverted from percussion, with bright barrel stamped with a small eagle-head mark between 'P' and 'V' at the breech and retained by three spring-held barrel bands, the forward one carrying the fore-sight and also forming the ramrod-entry, plain tang, flat bevelled lock stamped with American eagle above 'US' beneath the brass pan, figured full stock lightly stamped 'Ohio' behind the side-plate, regulation steel mounts, sling loops, and original steel ramrod (steel parts with some surface patination); together with a socket bayonet with blade of hollow triangular section (2)
