With two-stage sighted barrel now stamped '222' on the breech flat and chiselled with a scallop shell behind, plain tang grooved for sighting, rounded lock (action defective, steel-spring missing) with traces of maker's signature and chiselled on the tail, pierced cock chiselled with a dolphin and foliage, figured full stock (fore-end stained, chipped beneath the lock and on one side at the rear ramrod-pipe), mounts (gilding rubbed) cast and chased in low relief with rocailles and foliage, comprising side-nail plates, one inhabited by a dolphin, flattened pommel with short rounded spurs, D-shaped trigger-guard with floral finial, turned ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrod (barrel and lock with some wear and rust patination)
