17th/18th century

With tapering double-edged blade recessed over much of its length on each side to the point of flattened diamond section, the recess on one side chiselled in low relief with a gold-damascened figure armed with a trident and a with mahout astride his elephant, and on the other with a gold-damascened horseman spearing an antelope, gilt iron hilt chiselled overall with recessed lotus flowers between pairs of cloud bands and comprising fluted side-bars, and swelling baluster grips (some wear and minor damage)
