A Prussian 11-Bore 1839 Model Percussion Military Rifle Musket
No. K804, Mid-19th Century

With plain barrel rifled with five grooves and retained by three spring-held barrel bands, the forward one carrying the fore-sight and also forming the ramrod-entry, standing back-sight (tang broken through), flat bevelled lock etched 'H&S' over 'Suhl', figured full stock serial numbered behind the side-plate, butt recessed for the cheek and stamped with crowned 'FW' on the left side, regulation steel and brass mounts stamped with inspector's marks, the heel of the butt-plate stamped '16LWR40' over '1820', steel sling loops, and original steel ramrod (some wear and light pitting)
