A .577 Snider Mark III Cavalry Carbine
By The London Armoury Company, No. 5437, Dated 1870

With russet sighted barrel rifled with three grooves and retained by a Baddeley patent barrel band, calibrated folding adjustable back-sight with later leather cover, pivoting breech-block with sprung catch, dated flat lock (side-nails replaced) stamped 'L.S.A. Co' beneath a crowned broad arrow mark and with crowned 'V.R', figured half-stock (bruised) stamped with various numbers on one side of the butt, regulation brass mounts including butt-plate stamped 'V' over 'O.E.R.B. 89' on the heel tang, and with hinged circular butt-trap cover (cleaning rod missing, some wear overall), Ordnance proof marks; together with an Indian 15-bore percussion gun (lock replaced, trigger-guard and ramrod missing, in poor condition overall) (2)
