The first with swamped artificially twist polygroove rifled barrel, case-hardened breech and tang, the latter with back-sight, flat case-hardened back-action lock engraved 'Mre. Rle. de Chatellerault' (Neue Støckel 8782), figured half-stock stamped with crowned inspector's mark behind the side-nail plate, chequered rounded butt with ovoidal pommel-cap with lanyard-ring, spur trigger-guard and fore-end cap also forming the ramrod-entry, original brass-tipped steel ramrod, and much original finish (some surface patination); the second of similar form (barrel with some pitting), with foliate engraved tang, lock (action defective) and mounts, the latter including spur trigger-guard with foliate finial and engraved with a fox on the bow, set trigger, and no provision for a ramrod (steel parts with old surface rust), Liège proof (2)
