A Liège 13-bore percussion military pistol, and a French 12-bore 1822 model percussion military pistol
the first by A. Francotte A Liège, No. 502, the Second No. 663, both Mid-19th century

The first with sighted barrel stamped with maker's details at the breech and retained by a brass barrel-band also forming the fore-end cap and linked to the rounded side-plate, plain tang with extension down the back of the butt, signed flat bevelled lock, figured half-stock stamped 'Vaud' above the serial number opposite the lock, regulation brass mounts each stamped with inspector's mark and including rounded slightly beaked pommel with lanyard ring, and no provision for a ramrod, Liège proof; the second of regulation pattern, the lock etched 'Mre. Imp.ale de Mutzig', the stock stamped with the serial number and 'Mutzig' above an indistinct circular arsenal mark behind the side-plate, and retaining its steel ramrod (some wear, steel parts pitted) (2)
