Of bright steel with some old varnish over the outer surfaces, each with tapering gutter-shaped cuff with medial ridge and recessed border with a narrow angular turn at its edge, the inner edge with central cusp, linked by a plate embossed over the ulna to three matching articulated plates and a broad metacarpal plate, the latter embossed with converging V-shaped gores, knuckle-plate raised and incised with an oval over each knuckle, two finger-plates ridged en suite, the lower ones each pierced with six holes, all working on small dome-headed rivets each on a washer, and hinged four-plate thumb-defences (some light surface pitting) (2)
