A Rare Polish Hussar's Turban Zischägge
17th/18th Century

With modern conical textile padded turban with wide brim of red, blue and fawn over an iron rim, and sewn overall with downward-lapping iron scales (some rust patination and some loose) mostly stamped with four small circles at the tip, and some with an iron rivet on a brass dome, domed gilt-copper cap chased with scrolling foliage under an applied cross with beaded borders, and surmounted by a gilt ball with later cross
