A Lobster-Tailed Pot
Second Quarter Of The 17th Century

With hemispherical ribbed skull with ring-shaped finial on a circular washer, fixed pointed fall with turned edge stamped 'W' and pierced for a moveable bar-nasal, the upper finial deeply stamped with an inverted 'M', and secured by a wing-headed screw, pointed neck-guard of four upward-lapping plates, and triangular single-plate ear-pieces each pierced with circular holes, and dome-headed rivets (some light pitting overall); and a modern reproduction in 17th century style, painted black overall (one ear-piece detached) (2)
