A Medieval Sword Of Oakeshott Type XIII
13th/14th Century

In excavated condition, with broad tapering double-edged blade with central fuller over two thirds of its length on each side, the forte on one side inlaid in latten with a heart mark above a symbol, and on the other with a cross above the same symbol, hilt comprising flat tapering quillons, flat tang tapering beneath the pommel, and octagonal wheel pommel with circular central recess on each side
90 cm. blade, 113.8 cm. overall

The pommel conforms to Oakeshott's Type I1 with quillons of Style 1
