In excavated condition, with broad tapering double-edged blade with shallow central fuller over much of its length on each side extending into the tang, one side cut with the inscription 'SPETRNRS', hilt comprising straight quillons of rectangular section tapering to the tips, flat tapering tang, and rounded Brazil-nut pommel
