A façon de Venise small ewer, an early German beaker and a French oil lamp, 17th century

The small ewer ovoid with fine white ribs and looped handle, 12.5cm high (fine crack), the waldglas beaker in pale green tinted glass, trailed with a single milled thread and with a milled foot, 13.8cm high, together with a French or perhaps Liege lace-maker's lamp in façon de Venise-type glass on a domed foot, 25.5cm high (3)

Footnotes

Provenance:
From the Estate of Christopher Sheppard

An identical lamp is illustrated by W.A.Thorpe, A History of English and Irish Glass (1929), pl.VIII, fig.2 with the suggestion it may have been made in England by French workmen. It is more likely, however, that this is a product of Liege.

Saleroom notices

The French oil lamp has a fine crack through the bottom handle terminal, not mentioned in the catalogue.
