A large South Staffordshire enamel box, circa 1765-70

Of shallow rectangular form with gilded and tooled hinged metal mounts, the cover painted with figures within an extensive classical landscape, a group of drovers by a river and a fisherman and his dog on the other shore, smaller but detailed vignettes on the sides, the bright pink ground with bianco-sopra-bianco decoration, the raised and scrolled border picked out in gold, 18.4cm wide (fine cracks)
