A French opaline gorge de pigeon ormolu-mounted baguier, circa 1810-20

Attributed to Bercy, the shallow gorge de pigeon bowl edged with a wide amber opaline border, the foot of a similar amber colour edged with gorge de pigeon, ormolu mounts around the foot and rim, the rim with ormolu handles modelled as birds positioned as if drinking from the bowl, 13.5cm high

No other example is recorded with this combination of gorge de pigeon and amber glass. Similar pieces have been attributed to the Imperial Glass Factory in St Petersburg.
