In clear cristallo glass, the star-like shape divided by twelve strongly-moulded radiating ribs around the kick-in centre, 50cm diam

For similar examples in different sizes at Veste Coburg see Anna-Elisabeth Theuerkauff-Liederwald's Catalogue (1994), pp.152-3, figs.125-127. A further very similar dish 60cm diam is in the British Museum, see Hugh Tait, The Golden Age of Venetian Glass (1979), p.57, fig.62. An example in the Rosenborg Castle glass collection (Boesen's catalogue fig.2) was probably acquired by Frederik IV on his visit to Venice in 1709.
