An annotated working manuscript and galleys of The Making of Star Trek
From the estate of co-author Stephen Whitfield, as follows: A typed carbon manuscript and files for The Making of Star Trek by Whitfield and Gene Roddenberry, annotated in pencil and colored pencil, housed in 2 file boxes containing 95 file folders, many with chapter and part numbers; mimeographic manuscript, The Making of Star Trek galleys, annotated, on newsprint-like paper. This lot contains Stephen Whitfield's lengthy annotated working manuscript and the book's galleys, also annotated, likely by Whitfield and possibly by Roddenberry. The Making of Star Trek was the first published resource on the Star Trek series, and as such is still today an important reference work on the franchise. The previous lot contains original script materials used by Whitfield in the writing of his work; the present lot comprises the manuscript in typed form as well as the galleys of the book. An outstanding archive deeply connected with an important book in Star Trek's long and hugely popular history.
