A large Stephen Whitfield Star Trek production archive

An extensive archive of material relating to the production of the original Star Trek series, as follows: Seasons 1 and 2
Comprising a typed carbon of Series Format by Gene Roddenberry, 16 pp; a collection of scripts and production materials from the First and Second Seasons, mimeographic manuscripts unless otherwise noted, including: "Where No Man has Gone Before"- typed carbon first draft, annotated, typed carbon second draft, mimeographic second draft with ownership signature "("Jefferies") to wrapper, annotated, various papers; "What are Little Girls Made of?"- typed carbon first draft; "The Menagerie"- typed carbon final draft, continuity; memos from various episodes; "Shore Leave"- final draft; "This Side of Paradise"- typed carbon of novelization by DC Fontana; "Operation Annihilate"- typed carbon final revised draft; "Amok Time"- second revised final draft; "Wolf in the Fold"- revised final draft, various papers; "Journey to Babel"- revised final draft; "Obsession"- revised final draft.

Season 3
A collection of scripts and production materials from each of the 24 episodes of the 3rd season, mainly mimeographic manuscripts, including story outlines, first draft and final draft teleplays, with revision pages, many with Whitfield's ownership signature ("Steve Whitfield"); approximately 50 items related to the series' production, including story outlines and drafts for unproduced episodes, memos, and other paperwork; "Dagger of the Mind," revised draft, signed by Majel Barrett, Nichelle Nichols, and George Takei; "The Last Gunfight" with producer Fred Freiberger's ownership signature; "The Changeling," "All Our Yesterdays," and "Turnabout Intruder"; spaceship diagrams, 6 pp; and more.

Other Roddenberry Projects
A group of scripts and treatments (not from Whitfield's archives) of Roddenberry's later series Genesis II, Spectre, and Questor.
Author Stephen Whitfield collaborated with Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry on The Making of Star Trek (1968), the series' first extensive guidebook ever published. Roddenberry granted Whitfield extraordinary access to production materials from the show's original run, ranging from Roddenberry's first "Wagon Train to the Stars" series pitch to the final episode's script, "Turnabout Intruder." (See the next lot for the archive relating to the book itself.) Included are dozens of series scripts with revision pages and other paperwork, including a script signed by Matt Jefferies, designer of the USS Enterprise; Whitfield's files on key series personnel, with clippings, biographies, and his transcribed conversations with Roddenberry, William Shatner, producer Herb Solow, and many others. With a group of scripts and treatments (not from Whitfield's archives) of three later Roddenberry series.
