Two concept drawings of How the West Was Won
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1962. Comprising 2 production illustrations, gouache on board, one signed ("Gene Johnson") to lower right, both matted, one is framed. The first illustration in this lot from this epic Western depicts the railroad workers' camp with stampeding buffalo approaching in the background, and then the buffalo destroying the camp. These paintings are framed in the ultra-widescreen Cinerama aspect ratio (approximately 2:59:1).
