A Tod Browning owned transcript of The Casino Murder Case
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1935. Mimeographed manuscript, transcript of the novel The Casino Murder Case by S. S. Van Dine, 220 pp, May 18, 1934, bound with brads in blue Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer wrappers, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Script Department label to cover, title, author's credit, "Copied in MGM Script Dept," and "May 18/34" typed to front wrapper, stamped "Complete" to cover. This is a studio transcript of a Philo Vance detective novel published in 1934, used for in-house purposes. Browning likely considered this book as a potential project. It was filmed in 1935 without his involvement.
