A Tod Browning owned script of Hell Divers
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1931. Mimeographed manuscript, first temporary screenplay by Harvey Gates and Malcolm Stuart Boylan, 165 pp, May 26, 1931, bound with brads in blue Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer wrapper, with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Script Department label to front wrapper, "Mannix" in pencil to upper right front wrapper. This script about Navy Airmen was likely one of many properties Browning was given for consideration while at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Hell Divers was filmed without Browning's involvement in 1931 by George W. Hill and starred Clark Gable. The name "Mannix" on the script likely refers to M-G-M executive Eddie Mannix.
