A Natalie Visart costume design for Cleopatra
Paramount, 1934. Watercolor and pencil costume sketch of an elegant black gown and cape, annotated in pencil "Cleopatra, Funeral Scene," signed ("Visart and Hayes") and with studio stamp "C.B. DeMille Productions Art Dept," the reverse with another costume design, uncredited.
In the released film a funeral scene does not feature, and therefore there is no reference of this final costume. It is assumed that this costume sketch was designed by DeMille's team before Claudette Colbert was cast as Cleopatra.
