A technical director's bound screenplay of The Desperate Hours
Paramount, 1955. Mimeographed manuscript, Revised Final screenplay by Joseph Hayes, 173 pp, September 20, 1954, with many yellow and blue revision pages dated October to November, 1954, "'Desperate Hours' / Fred 'Duke' Fosler / Technical Director / Paramount 1954" painted to front cover, "Duke Fosler" written twice in pencil and pen to title page and "BR" in pencil, with 2 call sheets and 5 pp of cast and crew contact information and 6 pp shooting schedule bound in. William Wyler's The Desperate Hours starred Humphrey Bogart as the leader of a gang of escaped convicts holding a family hostage. Fred "Duke" Fosler was Chief of Deputy Sheriffs in Indianapolis, Indiana, the film's setting, and also appears briefly in the film. Joseph Hayes won an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America for his screenplay to the film.
