A lot of Buddy Adler oversize 1930s program books and studio campaign books
Comprising 7 hardbound books: lavish program books for Lost Horizon (1937), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), and Arizona (1940); A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935) spiralbound roadshow campaign book, with ownership bookplate signed ("Anita Louise") in ink; and 3 studio pre-release advertising campaign books: Columbia Pictures, 1933-1934 and 1934-1935, and United Artists, 1937-1938. These books are all heavily illustrated; the campaign books contain gorgeous poster artwork, depicting stars like Carole Lombard, Claudette Colbert, and Paulette Goddard, and a stunning two-page illustration of Boris Karloff in The Black Room Mystery (1935, released as The Black Room). Anita Louise was married to Buddy Adler and costarred in A Midsummer Night's Dream as Titania; her personal copy of her exhibitor's handbook is included here.
