A Marilyn Monroe-owned screenplay of Let's Make Love with signed letter from George Cukor sent just before production began
Twentieth Century-Fox, 1960. Mimeographed manuscript, second revised screenplay by Norman Krasna, 139 pp, January 15, 1960, with blue revision pages dated January 20, bound in blue Twentieth Century-Fox wrappers. WITH: Typed letter signed ("George"), 1 p, 4to, January 18, 1960, on George Cukor's stationery with two binder holes punched in top border.
Marilyn Monroe starred in her penultimate film role opposite Yves Montand in George Cukor's romantic comedy Let's Make Love. This is an early copy sent to Monroe before filming began and not her final script. In the accompanying letter sent three days after the script's date, Cukor writes: "My dearest Marilyn / It will be my great pleasure to / see that there is a white flower / in this vase throughout the / picture. Each day it'll bring / you all my affectionate good / wishes and high hopes for a / great success – together. / Always / George." Cukor later directed Monroe in her unfinished final film, Something's Got to Give (1962).
