Two albums of signed photographs of Hollywood stars
Comprising approximately 47 gelatin silver prints, most 1930s, approximately half are signed in ink, housed in sleeves in two photograph albums. Two oversize signed photographs of Rudolph Valentino in The Eagle (1925); two excellent portraits of Jean Harlow signed for her by Harlow's mother; Joan Crawford; and Edmund Lowe. The smaller, mostly 8 x 10 in signed photographs include George Burns and Gracie Allen, Clara Bow and Rex Bell, Hedy Lamarr (tinted color), Jackie Cooper, Dorothy Dare, Freddie Bartholomew, Sterling Holloway, Irene Rich, Paul Lukas, and Ted Lewis. There are also two 8 x 10 portraits of Rudolph Valentino with preprinted signatures. The outstanding unsigned photographs include four excellent 8 x 10 in portraits of Jean Harlow; 2 oversize portraits of Clark Gable and Constance Bennett in After Office Hours (1935); two cabinet card portraits of William S. Hart; and an 8 x 10 of Paulette Goddard in Modern Times (1936).
