Three albums of Hollywood star autographs, with three Amelia Earhart signatures

Comprising three small albums, 1930s, two bound with laces, one bound with brads, approximately 100 leaves in each, two with "Class Autographs" stamped in gilt to covers, the other stamped "Pictorial / Friends 'o' Mine / and / Jotaline." A collection of three albums filled with autographs accumulated by a young girl, Virginia Ann Forsyth, in 1930s Los Angeles. Probably the most outstanding autographs in the first album are a page signed twice-to front and back-by Amelia Earhart, with a separate signed photograph of Earhart laid in; this same album includes the signatures, one to a page, of Betty Grable, Fred MacMurray, Jean Arthur, Basil Rathbone, Marlene Dietrich, Irene Dunne, Freddie Bartholomew, Gary Cooper, and Jack Benny, among others. The second album is signed by Shirley Temple, Betty Grable, Johnny Mack Brown, Deanna Durbin, W. C. Fields, Dick Powell, Sonja Henie, Rosalind Russell, Robert Taylor, and Hedda Hopper, among others. The third album is signed by Jean Harlow (signature by Harlow's mother), Myrna Loy, William S. Hart, Janet Gaynor, Mae West (on a leaf folded in), Clark Gable, Mary Pickford, and others. Marge Faulkner, an early Walt Disney Studios employee, provides a color drawing of Mickey Mouse; the third album also has many small photos laid in, some signed, including a photograph of Jean Harlow signed by her mother. In this last album, some stars wrote their addresses in address blanks—usually their respective studios—but Mary Pickford listed "Pickfair" as hers.
