A Buster Crabbe screen-worn loincloth

A faux leopard fur loincloth in brown and black. Because of Crabbe's Olympic swimming history and his rugged good looks, Paramount Pictures put him in "jungle" movies, in direct competition to swimmer/actor, Johnny Weissmuller, who played "Tarzan" in many films. Though Crabbe only played the role of "Tarzan" in one film, Tarzan the Fearless (1933), he went on to play in other jungle films such as King of the Jungle (1933), Jungle Man (1941), and Jungle Siren (1942), sporting this classic loincloth. This is one of two loincloths from Buster Crabbe's estate: the other was donated by the family to the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
