A Rudolph Valentino dagger used in The Son of the Sheik
United Artists, 1926. Silver-mounted Arabian jambiya dagger, late 19th or early 20th century, with broad curved blade with prominent median ridge, hilt and scabbard of traditional form sheathed in silver and decorated with small bosses and wire work. Complete with original waist belt. The sequel to Rudolph Valentino's breakout hit The Sheik (1921), The Son of the Sheik starred Valentino and Vilma Banky. It was Valentino's final film, completed not long before his untimely death on August 13, 1926, and released just two weeks after his passing.
