A paint reference master maquette of Christopher Lee as Pastor Galswells from Tim Burton's stop-motion film Corpse Bride
Warner Bros., 2005. Made from fibre glass resin master cast with acrylic paints, the maquette depicts Sir Christopher Lee as Pastor Galswells, a haughty and bad-tempered priest who is hired to conduct Victor and Victoria's marriage in this dark and gothic tale. This paint reference master was produced to ensure consistency from one model to the next for the finished puppet, and was taken from the production mold or the master silicone mold of the actual puppet used in the film. On display stand.
Corpse Bride was directed by Tim Burton in 2005 and was his first stop-start feature film released by Warner Bros. It was nominated for an Academy Award® for "Best Animated Feature" in 2006. With thanks to Ian Mackinnon at "Mackinnon & Saunders Puppet Makers and Animation Producers," whose company was involved with the production of the props and puppets during the filming of the Corpse Bride, and in turn received the prestigious Ub Iwerks Award for Technical Achievement.
