A Bobby Driscoll suit from Song of the South
Walt Disney Productions, 1946. A mustard-colored suit consisting of a jacket with brown suede lapels and cuffs and dark green braided trim, with "Western Costume Company" stamped on the interior arm lining and a "W.C.C." stamp on the interior jacket lining, and a pair of trousers with suspender buttonholes and purple suede-covered buttons at the bottom and side of each leg, a "Western Costume Co." stamp on the interior lining, and an interior "Western Costume Co." label inscribed in black ink, "B. Driscoll." Bobby Driscoll was the first child actor to be put under personal contract by Walt Disney, who found the young boy to be incredibly natural on camera. Driscoll wears this outfit in the scene where the character of Uncle Remus, played by James Baskett, introduces and begins to sing the Academy Award® winning song, "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah." Accompanied by a photo of Driscoll wearing the outfit in a scene from the film.
