A portfolio of drawings by Walt Disney layout artist Ken Anderson
Comprising 13 drawings, graphite, ink, and gouache, 1932-1960s, housed in sleeves in a black portfolio; with 2 typed letters, signed, both pertaining to Anderson's contracts with Disney, dated December 4, 1944 and January 19, 1945, one signed ("Kenneth Anderson"), both on Walt Disney Productions stationery; and an Anderson contract with Disney, Thermofax legal document, 4pp, January 19, 1945, signed ("Kenneth Anderson") to fourth page, stapled to paper backing. From the 1940s-1980s, Ken Anderson contributed to many classic Walt Disney animated features in the story and layout departments; his credits include Alice in Wonderland (1951), Cinderella, and Peter Pan (both 1953). Most of these drawings were apparently done while Anderson was visiting Italy in 1932 and depict Italian villas, gargoyles, and other structures. Another drawing depicts two key canine characters from 101 Dalmatians (1961) and is captioned "Pongo and Pup"; the last drawing is a nude figure study.
