An Esther Williams tiara from Jupiter's Darling
MGM, 1955. Gold braid tiara wired with simulated pearls, simulated diamonds, and gold-colored leaves in a vertical pattern and graduating in size from back to front, bearing a cream-colored tag inscribed, "1652 / Esther Williams." Costumes designed by Walter Plunkett and Helen Rose. In one of the more ingenious "water ballet" dances that she was known for during her tenure at MGM, Williams swims with Roman statues that come to life underwater. Accompanied by a vintage photo of Williams wearing the tiara in a scene with Howard Keel.
