A Dean Tavoularis screenplay of The Conversation and a prop rubber stamp
Paramount, 1974. Xerographic manuscript, final screenplay by Francis Ford Coppola, 120 pp, November 22, 1972, bound with brads in yellow wrappers, lacking back wrapper, "The Conversation" and "The Director's Company / 827 Folsom Street / San Francisco" stamped to front wrapper, ownership signature ("Dean Tavoularis") in black ink, annotated throughout by him, with a small prop rubber stamp reading "Harry N. Caul / 700 Laguna St. Apt. 207." Includes letter of provenance for stamp from Alex Tavoularis. Francis Ford Coppola followed up The Godfather with this claustrophobic thriller about surveillance expert Harry Caul (Gene Hackman) who is unwittingly swept up in a conspiracy. This draft includes deleted scenes.
