A Harpo Marx harp used on I Love Lucy
A harp belonging to Harpo Marx, used from 1955-1962 for television show appearances and commercials. Most notably, Marx used this harp on the I Love Lucy episode "Lucy and Harpo Marx" (1955). It can be seen throughout Lucy's (Lucille Ball) scenes with Marx: in the background during their iconic "mirror" routine, and when Marx plays "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" on it. The harp also appears in, among other venues: Kraft Music Hall (1959) with Marx and Milton Berle; on a Pepsi-Cola commercial; and The Chevy Show episode "Swingin' at the Summit" with Marx and Louis Armstrong. With a copy of the bill of sale stating that Marx purchased the harp from Lyon & Healy in June, 1955 and sold it in March, 1962 to the present owner's father.
