A Hedy Lamarr beaded ensemble worn in My Favorite Spy
Paramount Pictures, 1951. Strapless 2-piece cream-colored gown, heavily beaded with bugle beads in a squiggly pattern, with an asymmetric neckline and light boning to the bodice, a central skirt slit 1/4 of the way up from the bottom, and a matching long-sleeved bolero jacket adorned with a large rhinestone brooch sewn into the neckline and a forearm-to-wrist zipper on each sleeve, bearing an interior stamp in blue lettering inscribed, "Paramount Pictures." A matching belt rounds out the ensemble. Designed by Edith Head. Lamarr wears this stunning ensemble in a scene where she sings (her voice was dubbed) in a nightclub. Accompanied by a vintage photo of Lamarr wearing the gown in the film.
