Named after Andalucia, Spain where it was first found, andalusite is an aluminium silicate. This lovely pear-shaped gem of excellent transparency, displays the characteristic flashes of orange, green and brown for which this pleochroic mineral is known. A species which is scarce in sizes over 7 carats, the present stone exhibits all the most desirable characteristics of this rare collector's stone. Weighing approximately 8.88 carats and measuring 19.63 x 10.65 x 7.93mm
