Exceptional Color-Change Spinel

Sri Lanka
Spinels of over 10 carats are rare and this one weighs in at just over that magic number. Possessing all the qualities that one would desire in a gem: a rich saturation of color which is neither too light nor too dark but just right--an adamantine luster, excellent faceting and superb clarity. A natural spinel, it changes from violet-blue in daylight to violet in incandescent light. Faceted as a rounded oval shape (known as a roval in the gem trade), this large spinel is worthy of consideration
by any serious collector. Weighing approximately 10.01 carats and measuring 13.4 x 12.1 x 8.6mm

Footnotes

Accompanied by an American Gemological Laboratories report.
