A very rare model of the Lunar Landing Research vehicle.
The Moon landings of 1969 and after were the result of careful simulations run by NASA under the aegis of the Apollo Program. Accordingly, several Lunar Landing Research Vehicles (LLRV) manufactured by Bell Aerosystems Company were tested at Edwards Air Force Base in California by a number of Army and Air Force pilots. A former helicopter test pilot, Col. Emil "Jack" Kluever was the only pilot to fly LLRV No. 2, which was flown six times during its flight test program at Edwards in early 1967.
