Footnotes

Provenance
Private English collection for over 90 years

Although missing its feet, the bellpush is otherwise identical to one retailed by Tiffany & Co. and sold to Grand Duchess Xenia and Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich in December 1902. That example was engraved "Tiffany & Co. London" and hallmarked for Faberge, Moscow, circa 1910. It was recently with Wartski following its exhibition in 2008 at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
