A large Bohemian amber stained goblet and cover, circa 1855-60

With a campana shaped bowl engraved with a group of six Bacchanalian boys cavorting around a series of wine barrels that bear the years of their vintages 1838, 1848 and 1854, with spiralling branches of fruiting vines trailing all around, raised on an octagonal collar, knopped fluted stem and a smaller clear glass foot cut with petal-shaped lobes at the rim, the pagoda-like spire cover also with a petal-shaped rim and engraved with further vines, 64cm high (2)
