An important Bohemian ruby stained Exhibition vase and pedestal, circa 1850-60

The vase of campana shape cut with broad vertical flutes, the flared body engraved all around with two groups of rutting stags in a forest, the bulbous lower body engraved with a further forest frieze including a running doe, on a spreading octagonal foot engraved with a border of ivy, raised on a drum shaped pedestal with a separate collar section, the straight sides of the pedestal engraved with further stags and deer running in a forest, with additional borders of fruiting vines and ivy, the vase 57.5cm, with its pedestal standing 90.5cm overall
