A good late 18th century French ormolu mantel clock
Le Febvre, Fontainebleau
The tall rectangular case surmounted by a wide loop handle on a bell held within elaborate straps enclosed by applied foliate crestings between finials, the glazed sides framed by engraved gilt borders, on ball feet, the 5 inch enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and engraved gilt hands, the tall rectangular movement united by turned pillars, the verge escapement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on the bell 35cms (13.5ins) high
