A pair of silver-mounted Japanese Imari cylindrical jars and covers

The porcelain circa 1700, the mounts French, mid-18th century
Each painted and gilt in typical colours with flowering peonies and blossoming prunus, all beneath two decorative bands of iron-red chrysanthemums and gilt scrolling motifs, the rims, feet and finials mounted in silver. 17.3cm (6 3/4in) high, 13cm (5 in) diam. (2).
