A pair of Japanese Imari bowls, covers and saucers

Edo Period
Each painted and gilt in typical colours with a design of oversized chrysanthemum flowerheads set against a dense scrolling ground of leafy peony, with French mid-18th century gilt-metal mounts. 13cm (5 1/8in) high overall; the saucer 14cm (5 1/2in) diam (6).
