A fine first half of the 20th century eight-day table chronometer

The square case retaining vestiges of the original gilding framing heavy bevelled glazed panels on squat ball feet on a rosewood base with integral drawer containing the original hand setting tool and tipsy key, the signed 5.5 inch square Roman dial with minute track enclosing subsidiaries for running seconds and state of wind indication, with blued steel hands, the gilt spotted plates united by heavy turned pillars screwed to the front and back, the movement with maintaining power to the single chain fusee terminating in a freesprung helical hairspring to a cut and compensated bimetallic balance with Earnshaw type detent escapement, numbered on the backplate and platform 692 22cms (8.5ins) high.
