Two German Powder-Flasks
Both Circa 1600

The first with cowhorn body of curved flattened triangular form, the front incised with blackened foliage centred on a flower-head within circles, all within borders of stylised ropework, the back (area of insect damage) with concentric circles, plain iron mounts (some pitting, top mount loose), the nozzle with sprung tap and cut-off lever, and ring for suspension (the other missing); the second of similar form, the front incised with a bear hunting scene in a landscape, the back with concentric circles (belt hook missing, tap incomplete) (2)
