Second Quarter Of The 18th Century
With broad tapering blade of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section, characteristic iron guard of slender bars forming fretted panels pierced with circles and stylised hearts, the main panels centred on saltires, the side bars each framing an S-shaped bar above a 'ram's horn', a pairs of fore-guards, compressed conical pommel incised with pairs of incised lines and with prominent turned button, and spirally fluted fishskin-covered wooden grip with iron collars (binding missing, old repair at the base of the guard)
