A large Chinese porcelain bowl and dish for the Indian Market
China, 19th Century

the bowl of deep rounded form on a short foot, the dish with wide gently sloping rim, the white ground decorated in polychrome enamel with central inscriptions with the name Muhammad within gilt crescent moons surrounded by floral vines, the rims with a series of cartouches containing floral spray and flowerheads
the dish 47 cm. diam.(2)
